{"id":635,"date":"2018-03-18T08:33:14","date_gmt":"2018-03-18T08:33:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pphsn.net\/?page_id=635"},"modified":"2024-03-10T23:10:18","modified_gmt":"2024-03-10T23:10:18","slug":"coordinating-body-cb","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.pphsn.net\/members\/coordinating-body-cb\/","title":{"rendered":"Coordinating Body (CB)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4 class=\"content-heading\">PPHSN Coordinating Body (CB)<\/h4>\n<p>The current membership of the PPHSN Coordinating Body (CB) includes:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Core members from the following Pacific Islands: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cook Islands<\/li>\n<li>Nauru<\/li>\n<li>New Caledonia<\/li>\n<li>Palau<\/li>\n<li>Solomon Islands<\/li>\n<li>Tonga<\/li>\n<li>Vanuatu<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Allied members from the following organisations\/institutions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)<\/li>\n<li>Fiji National University (FNU), College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences &#8211; <em><small>Permanent member\u00a0<\/small><\/em><\/li>\n<li>Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR)<\/li>\n<li>Pacific Community (SPC) &#8211; <em><small>Permanent member<\/small><\/em><\/li>\n<li>Pacific Island Health Officers Association (PIHOA) &#8211;\u00a0<em><small>Permanent member<\/small><\/em><\/li>\n<li>World Health Organization (WHO) &#8211; <em><small>Permanent member<\/small><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>CB membership is rotated in a staggered manner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PPHSN-CB roles and responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The major roles and responsibilities of the PPHSN-CB is to support the activities and functioning of the PPHSN by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Advocating for efficient and effective models for surveillance and response with an initial focus on priority diseases and conditions as reflected in the PPHSN Strategic Framework, including new emerging and re-emerging diseases;<\/li>\n<li>Developing and facilitating the implementation of a dynamic action plan for the PPHSN (the action plan will address issues including, but not limited to, public health surveillance and response, relevant training, and operational research);<\/li>\n<li>Organizing, coordinating and integrating PPHSN activities (this will include, but not be limited to, regional response to outbreaks, liaising with other organizations, and securing adequate resources for PPHSN activities);<\/li>\n<li>Monitoring and evaluating PPHSN activities, including PPHSN action plans;<\/li>\n<li>Communicating the status of PPHSN activities to its membership and outside entities;<\/li>\n<li>Providing leadership in the identification and control of public health problems in the region;<\/li>\n<li>Advocating the development and use of evidence-based practices in public health surveillance and response; and<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating preparedness for dealing with outbreak-prone diseases in the region, including new emerging and re-emerging diseases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The CB meets regularly to plan and directly support the implementation of the network activities.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pphsn.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/2023-PPHSN-CB-ToRs.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PPHSN-CB Terms of Reference<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PPHSN Coordinating Body (CB) The current membership of the PPHSN Coordinating Body (CB) includes: Core members from the following Pacific Islands: Cook Islands Nauru New Caledonia Palau Solomon Islands Tonga Vanuatu Allied members from the following organisations\/institutions: U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Fiji National University (FNU), College of Medicine, Nursing and Health [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"parent":9060,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"better_featured_image":null,"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.4 -
