Infection prevention and control (IPC) focal points from 17 Pacific Island countries and territories recently exchanged experiences & lessons learned from COVID-19 at the 2023 Pacific Infection Prevention and Control #PICNet Meeting that took place from 24 to 26 May 2023 in Fiji Islands.
The COVID-19 pandemic shown the central role IPC plays in health workers’ protection, patient safety, combating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and in outbreak preparedness, readiness and response.
This 2-day meeting organised by the Pacific Community for PICNet under the framework of PPHSN provided a platform to influence and drive IPC priorities for the Pacific Region.
